This is my thirteenth program cover for the Portsmouth Recreation Department. It is gratifying that these covers appear to be getting better and not the other way around. Besides a few trips to the E.R., I was faced with the prospect of suffering from potential fatigue if I had to draw yet another cover depicting people playing sports. I took a chance and decided to draw something that would be a bit more fun and whimsical. I think I succeeded in creating a creature that feels family-friendly and funny, yet also fulfills the basic requirement of conveying the variety of athletic activities offered by this organization. A tip of the hat to my dad who proved indispensable as I worked on this project, while simultaneously battling my own medical monster.
