After nearly 40 hours of agonizing labor, I finally gave birth to the final cover at approx. 1:30 AM today (after having colorized it from 6:30 PM on Wednesday to 4:30 PM on Thursday.) I took a 3 hour nap then put in another 6 hours last night. Talk about a brutal schedule. I'm in another state of mind now and need to sleep. I'll write more later. All in all, I'm more pleased with this than I thought I would be. I'll probably tweak the colors a bit more at a later date...

I LIKE it!!
Looks good! The newly added background elements (pitcher's mound, sky) unify the illustration and add depth. The color is great - unusual choices that make perfect sense. The inking looks fine on screen. Glad you made some last minute changes to some of the poses, areas that were confusing are now clear. Good job - now roll this productivity into a NEW project! Pronto!
FYI - Sweeney Todd rocked my world.
Glad you LIKE it Mrs. Chili. I'm glad it's behind me and I can look ahead to my next project (doing a caricature of my aunt's cat.) Not a "glamorous" project, but it's a rare opportunity for me to draw a cartoon cat. I think it will be fun.
Thanks for the kudos Robert. Thanks also for your helpful tips. They helped make this illustration better than it would have been otherwise. I hope to be more prolific in 2008. It would be great to do at least one nice piece per month. We'll see if I'm successful. Think about the sketch-a-day challenge I proposed to you. Glad Sweeney Todd rocked your world!
