Screwed!

This "delightful", ballpoint pen sketch is the result of the migraine I woke up with this morning. I've done these kinds of sketches under similar circumstances in the past. Most of them never see the light of day--which is probably a good thing! They remain cloistered in a dark room (or drawer) much as I do when I'm under attack from one of these nasty assaults on my head
(and sanity.) This sketch seemed to come out pretty good and it captures a small sense of what it feels like to receive one of these bad boys. Creating this drawing helped to distract me while I waited for the migraine meds to wipe away the pain.

Now that my head is feeling as "normal" as it's going to, it's back to drawing significantly more cheerful dinosaurs. The irony of that statement is not lost on me. I may use this image on this year's Christmas card. Kidding of course.

Yikes! Hurts my head just looking at this sketch–so I guess that means it's successful. Thanks for this insight into the hell you go through all too often. It's hard for the non-afflicted to appreciate the debilitating effects of a migraine--this sketch helps.

Good look with dinosaur project–-may your head cooperate!

Thanks for the kudos and empathy Robert. Usually migraines and creativity don't go hand-in-hand, but at least I got a sketch and new blog post out of this morning's migraine.

It's going to be a challenge making the dino deadline for this Wednesday, but I'm determined to do it! Back to wrestling with those giant lizards...

Sorry, Honey. I've never experienced migraine, but I know people who do, so I have a great deal of respect and sympathy.

That's a great image, by the way. Quite expressive...
